03/12/2014 - The online festival organised by Unifrance from 16 January looks very promising; the jury will include Gondry, Lafosse, Lapid and Sissako

Riding high on the success of its previous editions, MyFrenchFilmFestival will for the fifth time be inviting cybernauts from all around the world to discover a selection of French films online, from 16 January until 16 February 2015. And the programme rustled up by UniFrance has turned out to be particularly enticing this time around, featuring a competition involving ten features, including Eastern Boys [+see also:

The Chopard Directors Award will be handed out by a very high-ranking jury chaired by French director Michel Gondry, who will be assisted by Belgium’s Joachim Lafosse, Israel’s Nadav Lapid and Mauritania’s Abderrahmane Sissako.

Topped off by a Quebec feature film out of competition, a heritage film (Purple Noon by René Clément), ten shorts in competition and one out of competition, the festival programme will be available in 13 languages and accessible from all around the world on myfrenchfilmfestival.com or via 25 partner platforms (including iTunes in over 90 countries). The features that will be watchable through the purchase of a pack (€9.99) or individually (€1.99) will, however, be offered free of charge in Latin America, China, India, Poland, Russia and Turkey. The short films, meanwhile, will be available free of charge everywhere.
