Written by Noé Debré and Kim Chapiron, the screenplay starts with a speech: "You are the cream of the crop," the HEC's director tells his students on the first day of term. "You are now part of the best students in France, and soon the economic markets will have no secrets for you. Learn, work, and put these theories into practice." Second year students Kelly, Dan, Louis, and Jaffar will do just that...

Produced by Benjamin Elalouf and Alexandre Sykora for Moonshaker Films as executive co-producers with Stone Angels (Pierre-Ange Le Pogam), La crème de la crème is being made on a budget of around €3.9m that includes pre-acquisitions by Canal+ and Ciné+, as well as support from ISF Cinéma and the Ile-de-France region that hosted the film's 39 days of shooting. Stone Angels (to release Hugo Gélin’s Comme des frères on November 21 and currently shooting Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco – read more) is handling the film’s distribution in France as well as its international sales.
