Written by the director, the script (selected for a public reading at the 2020 Angers European First Film Festival) follows in the footsteps of friends Alma and Margot, two real sisters whom nothing and no-one can come between and who aren’t even rivals in their shared, burning desire to become actresses. Not even when Alma is hired to play the lead role in a play and Margot is her understudy. It’s something else entirely that will eventually decide their fate…

Produced by Caroline Nataf together with Bruno Nahon and Thomas Morvan on behalf of Unité, The Braves has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+. The feature film also enjoys the support of the SOFICA companies Cinéventure and Arte Cofinova, with shooting underway in Paris since 7 September, under the aegis of American director of photography Sean Price Williams (Good Time). Distribution in France is entrusted to KMBO while international sales are managed by mk2 Films.
