The killer and the cop - WWW, What a Wonderful World

Last lap in the filming of WWW, What a Wonderful World, the second feature from Faouzi Bensaïdi whose first film won many an awardMille Mois notably in the section Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2003. kicking off on the 7th September in Casablanca, filming ends on the 22nd October. In the casting is the director himself and his favourite actress Nezha Rahil. The director plays a contract killer receiving his jobs via the Internet and occasionally calls a prostitute to make love after execution. The woman who answers the phone is a traffic cop in charge of the biggest roundabout in town. Falling in love with her voice, the killer sets out to find her, he heads to Casablanca, a town of contrasts, modern and archaic. Meanwhile, a professional hacker, who dreams of heading for Europe accidentally comes across the killer’s contracts. The screenplay was by Faouzi Bensaïdi who has won 23 prizes in international festivals for his first short film La Falaise (1998) and also was involved in writing Loin [+see also:

Produced by Laurent Lavolé and Isabelle Pragier for Gloria Films, WWW, What a Wonderful World had a budget of 1,8 million euros including an Advance on Receipts of 440 000 euros from National Film Centre (CNC) and a co-production with the Moroccans at Agora Films. The feature will be distributed in France byLes Films du Losange who also handle international sales.
