UPDATE (2 September 2022): A new title has rounded off the Competition section, A Woman by Chinese filmmaker Wang Chao, and Marlowe, the new film by Irish director Neil Jordan, has been announced as the closing film, out of competition. Actress Glenn Close has been announced as the president of the jury for the Competition of the Official Section, which also includes casting director and filmmaker Antoinette Boulat, director-screenwriter Tea Lindeburg, producer Matías Mosteirín, writer-journalist Rosa Montero, filmmaker and visual artist Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese, and director-screenwriter Hlynur Pálmason. The Official Section of the 70th San Sebastian Film Festival, which will take place from 16th to 24th September, is starting to take shape with the announcement of the films that will be competing for the event's top award: the Golden Shell.
