Results of the second Eurimages Project Evaluation Session of 2022 have just been announced. Further to recommendations made by independent experts meeting online, the Executive Committee of the Fund has decided to support 24 feature films, including 2 documentaries and 2 animations, for a total amount of €6.511.000. Project with female directors represented 41,9% of the eligible projects examined and of the projects supported, 35,4% are to be directed by women. These projects represent 34,3% of the total funding awarded.

The films supported include the new work by acclaimed directors such as Romania's Radu Jude, who has received €150,000 for A Case History (Romania/Croatia), his new feature film his Golden Bear winner Bad Luck Banging or Loony Porn [+leggi anche:

and a few short films that have been selected in Locarno, Venice and Cannes; Sweden's Levan Akin, who has received €400,000 for Passage (Sweden/Denmark/France), his new film after the sensation And Then We Danced [+leggi anche:

The animation film Savages! (Switzerland/France/Belgium), the new feature by Switzerland's Claude Barras after his Oscar-nominated, multi-award-winning My Life as a Courgette [+leggi anche:

, has received a total of €500,000; while Valemon: The Polar Bear King (Norway/Belgium) by Mikkel Sandemose (read news), received the same amount, €500,000.

Other established filmmakers that have received funding for their new projects are Portugal's André Gil Mata (€140,000 for the Portuguese-French co-production Under the Flame of the Lamp), Slovakia's Ivan Ostrochovský (€260,000 for the Slovakian-Czech-Hungarian co-production The Spring - read news), Slovenia's Žiga Virc (€126,000 for the Slovenian-Greek co-production The Last Hero - read news), Germany's Yasemin Samdereli (€450,000 for the Italian-German co-production Samia), Italy's Federico Bondi (€430,000 for the Italian-Belgian co-production Superluna), Serbia's Dragan Bjelorgrlić (€350,000 for the Serbian-Slovenian-Macedonian co-production Chain Reaction) and Germany's Stefan Tolz (€100,000 for the German-Georgian-Bulgarian co-production Just One Drop).

Three second fiction features have also been funded: Animal by Greece's Sofia Exarchou (Greece/Austria/Bulgaria/Romania, with €418,000), The Rye Horn by Spain's Jaione Camborda Coll (Spain/Belgium/Portugal, with €312,000) and The Black Hole by Estonia's Moonika Siimets (Estonia/Finland, with €220,000).  

On the other hand, the supported first fiction features are Vincent Must Die by France's Stéphan Castang (France/Belgium, with €350,000), Storms by France's Dania Reymond-Boughenou (France/Belgium, with €300,000), Life-Size Pauline by Switzerland's Nadège de Benoit Luthy (Switzerland/Belgium, with €250,000), Re-Writing by Spain's Víctor Iriarte (Spain/Portugal/France, with €232 000), The Sweet Bitterness of Ripe Pomegranates by North Macedonia's Andrej Ilievski Volkashin (North Macedonia/Bulgaria, with €48,000), and The House with no Address by Turkey's Hatice Aşkın (Turkey/Greece, with €97,000), 

Regarding the supported documentaries, the titles are A Massacre by Switzerland's Milo Rau (Germany/Switzerland/France, with €236,000) and Meril by Sweden's Victoria Verseau (Sweden/France, with €117,000).
