The 37th Cinema Jove is all set to unspool between 24 June and 2 July, organised by the Generalitat (Valencia’s local government) via the Valencian Cultural Institute. The festival director, Carlos Madrid, has been unable to hide his joy ever since it was announced that this year’s Moon of Valencia Award would go to Mia Hansen-Løve. In his words, she is “one of the most outstanding young voices in 21st-century French cinema. ) will put on together with the Jove Orquestra de la Generalitat (Young Orchestra of the Generalitat) on 29 June. In addition, it’s worth noting that the strand dedicated to the first few years in the career of an influential figure will, for the first time, pay tribute to a female director: that much-loved genius Agnès Varda.
