After keeping us in suspense for a very long time, the Cannes team has finally unveiled the information we've been waiting for: Vincent Lindon is the person who will preside over the jury of the Official Competition at the 75^th Cannes Film Festival (17-28 May). The French actor thus steps into the shoes of Spike Lee, from the USA, who chaired the jury of the 2021 edition of the festival steered by duo Pierre Lescure (who will serve as president for the last time this year, before passing on the baton to Iris Knobloch next July – see the news) and Thierry Frémaux (Artistic Director).

He will be backed up by eight jury members, four of whom are actresses (with the first two mentioned also working as directors): Brit Rebecca Hall, Italy’s Jasmine Trinca (whose feature debut, Marcel! [+leggi anche:

scheda film], will also be presented as a Special Screening), Sweden’s Noomi Rapace and India’s Deepika Padukone. Four male filmmakers will also serve on the jury: the USA’s Jeff Nichols, Norway’s Joachim Trier, Iran’s Asghar Farhadi and France’s Ladj Ly.

The jury will decide on the winning films among the 21 features in the running for the 2022 Palme d’Or (see the article and the news).
