Considered as something akin to the Spanish David Bowie, as an actor, he was involved in European film productions of the calibre of La Reine Margot, directed by Patrice Chéreau in 1994, and fantasy flicks such as Star Knight by Fernando Colomo, and he was even a judge by day and an Almodóvar girl by night – albeit in drag – in High Heels [+leggi anche:

). They will be flanked by Nacho Fresneda (in the role of his father, with whom he had several infamous disagreements), Alicia Borrachero (who plays Nanny Remedios, a crucial presence in his childhood), Valeria Solarino (portraying his mother), Ana Torrent (aristocrat Rosario Primo de Rivera, Dominguín’s final romantic partner), Miguel Ángel Muñoz (singer Julio Iglesias) and Cuba’s Mariela Garriga (Giannina Facio, Ridley Scott’s current partner).

Rosa Lagarrigue, Miguel’s long-time manager and friend of 40 years, is played by Ana Jara and Débora IzaguirreGabriel Guevara steps into the shoes of choreographer Nacho Duato, who served as the artistic director of the Spanish National Dance Company for two whole decades, and who met Miguel (a seasoned dancer, having studied under Lindsay Kemp, Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey) when he was 18. They then lived together in New York and became firm friends. Furthermore, in this biopic, Raquel Salamanca is Ana Obregón, the Spanish actress and hostess who, after her relationship with Miguel, also remained friends with him. The cast is rounded off by former bullfighter Óscar Higares, who plays Domingo Dominguín, the favourite uncle of the famous singer of hits such as “Don Diablo”, “Morir de amor” and “Amante bandido”.

Bosé is a VIS (ViacomCBS International Studios) production in conjunction with Shine Iberia (which belongs to the Banijay Group), Elephantec Global and Legacy Rock. It will be aired on Paramount + International in the near future.
