The ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival has unveiled the full line-up for its 18th edition, which will run from 3-10 April in its usual location of the Kaptol Cinema in Zagreb. The major documentary event will this year host 86 documentaries across 11 film sections. A total of 35 movies will be participating in the two official competitions – International and Regional – in an effort to win the festival’s Big Stamp Award, while up-and-coming directors under 35 years of age will also be eligible for the Small Stamp Award. This year’s festival programme was presented by festival director and main programmer Nenad Puhovski and producer Hrvoje Pukšec.

Puhovski mentioned during the presentation: “We are entering adulthood happy and proud to be one of the few festivals that have shown films exclusively in cinemas in these past few, challenging years. With a selection of the best recent films, ZagrebDox continues to open up space, and provide an opportunity to explore and understand the world around us, in all its fullness, through the film medium, meetings at the cinema, conversations and the sharing of emotions.”

The ZagrebDox International Competition is made up of 18 documentaries that touch on various focal points on the geopolitical map of the world. The feature-length titles are: 107 Mothers [+leggi anche:

As always, ZagrebDox will offer more sections than just its competitive ones, and this year, the sidebars include Masters of Dox, Controversial Dox and State of Affairs, along with the Road Dox section curated by Vladan Petković and the Points of View strand curated by Jelena Pašić. Serbian director Želimir Žilnik will have a retrospective dedicated to his films made in Germany in the mid-1970s, while the “author’s evening” belongs to director Katarina Zrinka Matijević, president of this year’s international jury, with a selection of films curated by Diana Nenadić.
