When it came to script readings, Lucas Gloppe’s Faire feu scooped the two prizes in the offing for feature films. Penned by its future director in association with Cyril Brody and Julia Minkowski, the story unfurls in modern-day Paris, in 2016: Ludo has devoted himself mind, body and soul to extreme left-wing militancy since his teenage years, while Lisa is a bright, feminist teacher in a relationship with Yann. After spending nine months in prison, Ludo discovers love with Lisa for the first time in his life. But just as Ludo’s underground life is catching up with him, Lisa learns that the illness which has been eating away at her since the summer is cancer. A race against time ensues to imbue Ludo with the same vital impetus that Lisa gave him when they first met… The script was read in Angers by Samuel Theis, Andranic Manet and Marie Colomb, while the project itself will be steered by Chaz Productions.
