Shot in August, Summer to Come - the second feature film put forth by György Mór Kárpáti (who turned heads with his short films, notably Forest, which competed in Berlin in 2011, and Provincia, which graced Cannes’ 2014 Cinéfondation selection) after his promising first work Guerilla [+leggi anche:

(2019) - will take part in the Work in Progress section of the 13th Les Arcs Film Festival on Sunday 12 December, with some extensive movie extracts topping the agenda.

Starring Orsolya Bukovszky, Dániel Brezovszky and Ágoston Liber, the film homes in on a relatively taboo subject which also seems to be a rising phenomenon in recent years: teenage suicide. Written by the director, the story revolves around a class of high schoolers who are attending a summer camp. Restless 18-year-old Milán is preparing his very own showdown. A love triangle is forming between himself, Anna and Dani. The tension mounts during a hike, at the end of which the three of them are sent home. The question of their feelings remains unresolved, and the showdown never happens. One year later, following graduation, the camp takes place once again. But Milán is no longer with them: he took his own life during the previous semester. His classmates remember him and struggle to process their loss…

Now in the final stages of post-production, Summer to Come is produced by Viktória Petrányi (much like Guerilla) on behalf of Proton Cinema (with Kornel Mundruczo as executive producer), and is co-produced by Tamás Hutlassa for Café Film.
