In what can definitely be called the most atypical year in recent history, the awards season is doing its best to go ahead as normally as possible. Two months later than usual, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the films that will vie for its yearly statuettes, the Golden Globes. After adapting the requirements and calendar to the health crisis, the awards will be given out during a virtual ceremony on 28 February.

Even in this situation, European-produced films have managed to keep up their usual presence in the list of nominees, with the audience darling The Father [+leggi anche:

leading the contingent with a total of four nods. The first film by the author of the most widely performed French play in the world, Florian Zeller, is vying for Best Picture, Best Actor – Drama (Anthony Hopkins), Best Supporting Actress (Olivia Colman) and Best Screenplay (the director himself and Christopher Hampton).
