The Oslo-based agency Nordisk Film & TV Fond has announced the recipients of its January round of funding. In detail, the body has earmarked a total of 11.5 million Norwegian crowns (circa €1,108,600) to back seven new audiovisual projects, alongside other distribution and industry initiatives.

On this occasion, four fiction features will be in receipt of the body’s production grants – namely, Martin Skovbjerg’s Copenhagen Doesn’t Exist (1.2 million Norwegian crowns/€115,800, produced by Denmark’s Snowglobe, Norway’s Oslo Pictures and the Swedish division of Zentropa), Frederikke Aspöck’s “non-traditional” period drama Empire (1.5 million Norwegian crowns/€144,700, staged by Denmark’s Meta Film), Gunnar Vikene’s war drama War Sailor [+leggi anche:

(4 million Norwegian crowns/€385,800, a Mer Film production) and Rasmus A Sivertsen’s animated flick When the Robbers Came to Cardamom (3 million Norwegian crowns/€289,400, produced by Norwegian studio Qvisten Animation and co-produced by Denmark’s Copenhagen Bombay).

(850,000 Norwegian crowns/€82,000, produced by Swedish outfit Auto Images and co-produced by Norway’s UpNorth Film and Belgium’s Associate Directors, in association with SVT, DR, YLE, RÚV, VRT and RTBF) and Hogir Hirori’s Sabaya (350,000 Norwegian crowns/€33,800, produced by Swedish firms Lolav Media and Ginestra Film, in co-production with pubcaster SVT and in association with YLE and VGTV).

Finally, the organisation has set aside 1.285 million Norwegian crowns to back several distribution and industry initiatives. In particular, the recipients of these grants are NonStop Entertainment for the release of Tove [+leggi anche:
