Top Polish and international experts working in all areas of post-production will serve as special presenters at the Post Production Forum, which has been organised since 2016 in Poland. The subjects range from editing, colour grading, conforming and working with artificial intelligence to 3D animation, rotoscoping and more. This year’s edition, running from 4-6 December, will consist of almost 20 presentations, while five of them will be carried out in English. Only the lectures available to non-Polish-speaking participants are mentioned below, while the entire programme can be found here. The pass for the whole event costs PLN 50 (approximately €11).

The event will kick off on 4 December with a lecture on “How to Create Your Personal Brand and Career as a VFX Supervisor?”, hosted by Allan McKay. The opening presentation on 5 December will be given by American editor Dan Lebenthal (Iron Man, Spider Man: Far from Home, Ant-Man), who will discuss “The Art of Storytelling in Big-budget Hollywood Cinema”. This will be followed by “The World of VFX and Standards of the Supervisor’s Framework” (presented by Luka Leskovesek and Andraz Sedmak) and “Challenges and Skills in the Work of a Colour Supervisor” (presented by Pablo Garcia and Kamil Rutkowski).

The programme of the second day of the forum will also broach a broad spectrum of subjects, while the panel available in English is about “The Process of Creating a 3D Animation on CGI Characters – Examples” (presented by Žiga Pokorn and Blaž Slivnik).

During the event, a guide called Post in Poland will be published, designed to help readers navigate the Polish post-production market.

The Mazovia Warsaw Film Commission, the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute, post-production company DI Factory and Black Photon are among the partners of the forum, which is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Polish Film Institute and the City of Warsaw. The forum was initiated in 2016 as the Montage Film Festival and was dedicated to the art of editing. Over time, it evolved into an industry event focusing on lectures, discussion panels and workshops covering other post-production elements, such as image and sound processing. In 2019, the gathering was moved to Warsaw and was renamed to the Post Production Forum.
