), The Divide’s script revolves around Raf and Julie. Together, they form a couple of the verge of a break-up who find themselves in A&E having almost suffocated on the evening of a large Parisian demonstration. Overwhelmed staff and injured, angry protesters will serve to shatter the certainties and prejudices of these two women, as will their encounter with wounded demonstrator Yann. Outside, the tension mounts and the hospital finds itself besieged… It’s going to be a long night.

Produced by Élisabeth Perez for Chaz Productions, The Divide is co-produced by France 3 Cinéma, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Cinéma and Le Pacte (who are also overseeing the film’s cinema release in France). Also pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film further enjoys the support of the SOFICA companies Sofitvcine, Cinémage and Cinéaxe. Filming will unfold over seven weeks in the Paris region and in Lyon, with Jeanne Lapoirie helming cinematography (nominated in her category at the 2003, 2014 and 2018 Césars). International sales are entrusted to Kinology.
