Selected European documentary films for a young audience will vie for a prize in a separate competition, which will screen the Polish observational doc Underage Engineers by Aleksandra Skowron and Hanna Polak; Rozálie Kohoutová and Tomáš Bojar’s Off Sides, following intercultural dialogue between the Czech Republic and Morocco through hockey; and a Norwegian portrait of the world’s youngest rallycross driver, Born 2 Drive.

The Panorama section, which serves as an alternative distribution channel for the latest children’s and youth titles from the festival circuit, will be offering a diverse selection, including the Frank Mosvold- and Atle Blakseth-directed Ella Bella Bingo, the Dutch title Little Crumb and the Race to the Gold Mine, Jean-François Laguionie and Xavier Picard’s animated feature The Prince’s Voyage [+leggi anche:

. Separate programming sections will be dedicated to the latest virtual-reality oeuvres (VR Brainz) and student films (Zlín Dog – International Competition of Student Films).

In light of the current epidemiological situation, the festival has adopted adequate safety precautions, cancelling risky events, creating a special team tasked with disinfecting indoor and outdoor areas, and furnishing stands with disinfectants, with the major change being the need for registration in order to purchase tickets. “Thanks to this, people can attend film screenings, the outdoor cinema, discussions, workshops and concerts, as well as virtual reality and other events from the supporting programme within fenced-off zones, to which access will not be possible without registration,” states the festival.

The 60th International Film Festival for Children and Youth runs from 4-10 September, and the full line-up, along with the supporting programme, is available here. You can watch the trailer for the 60th Zlín Film Festival film below:
