Wallimage has just announced the results of its 100th session, which was doubly exceptional since the fund saw its budget enhanced with a view to providing the sector with a vital boost to counter the health crisis. Jostling among the 6 supported projects are four feature film projects, including three large-scale French feature films. Also of note is the fund’s endowment with an additional sum nearing €1.6 million, providing finance for 19 projects already assisted by the fund in times gone by.

. Here, we follow Madeleine (Anaïs Demoustier), a waitress in a beachside hotel restaurant and a mother to a little boy, as she makes the acquaintance of François (Vincent Lacoste), a rich and well-educated student. The force of attraction drawing them towards one another is as powerful as the secrets which each of them hides. We already know what Madeleine is looking to leave behind as she follows this young man, and with time, we learn what it is that François is so desperate to escape as he entwines his destiny with that of Madeleine… The film is produced by Frakas in Belgium, and by Les Films du Bélier and Les Films Pelléas in France.

The film is produced by Natrix Natrix (Lithuania) and is notably co-produced by 10:80 Films (Belgium), while international sales will be managed by XYZ Films.

Also worth a mention is Wallimage’s recent appointment of a new managing director, Virginie Nouvelle, who’s currently Financial Director at Wallimage Entreprises SA and who’s scheduled to take over from Philippe Reynaert in the autumn, with the latter having occupied the post for 20 years.
