The Nordisk Film & TV Fond has announced the recipients of its March slate of funding. The Oslo-based audiovisual agency has set aside 14,250,000 Norwegian crowns (approximately €1.26 million) to back the making of eight new productions, and has earmarked part of said amount to provide distribution and dubbing support.

The big winners of the organisation’s latest round of funding are two TV series – namely, Magnus Martens and Lars Kraume’s 8x50 political crime-thriller Fury (3.5 million Norwegian crowns, or €310,000), produced by Norway’s Monster Scripted and Germany’s X Filme, and Pernilla August’s crime-drama 6x60 Blackwater (3.2 million Norwegian crowns, or €283,000), based on Kerstin Ekman’s best-selling novel of the same name, and staged by Piv Bernth and Lars Hermann for Swedish outfit Apple Tree AB, in co-operation with ARD Degeto and Filmpool Nord.

In total, four fiction films will be in receipt of production grants. The selected projects are Bille August’s drama The Pact (2 million Norwegian crowns, or €177,000, staged by SF Studios Denmark and Motor, in co-production with Belgium’s Scope Pictures); Tuva Novotny’s third feature, Diorama (1.5 million Norwegian crowns, or €133,000, co-produced by the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian divisions of Nordisk Film Production); Will Ashurst’s animated flick Christmas at Cattle Hill (1.5 million Norwegian crowns, or €133,000, co-produced by Norwegian studio Qvisten Animation and the Dyreparken i Kristiansand amusement park); and Claes Olsson’s epic drama Yellow Sulfur Sky (1.1 million Norwegian crowns, or €97,500, co-produced by Finland’s Solar Films, Sweden’s Bright Moving Pictures, Germany’s Why Not Films and Denmark’s Smile Entertainment).

Meanwhile, the two documentaries backed by the fund are Gorki Glaser-Müller’s Children of the Enemy [+leggi anche:

Finally, the fund earmarked a total of 1 million Norwegian crowns (€88,500) in distribution grants and 345,000 Norwegian crowns (€30,500) in dubbing support.
