The Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC) has released the results of its latest call for funding applications in all categories: feature-length and short fiction and documentary projects, animated and experimental, and minority co-productions.

In the feature-length fiction category, veteran director Rajko Grlić, whose last outing, The Constitution [+leggi anche:

scheda film], won a slew of awards in 2016 and 2017, including the Grand Prize of the Americas at the Montreal World Film Festival, where it world-premiered, received the largest amount, €657,361 (HRK 5 million), for It All Ends Here. Grlić is reteaming with The Constitution co-writer Ante Tomić for this Interfilm production.

Vanja Juranić (Am I Happy or What?, Zagreb Capuccino) received €552,447 (HRK 4.2 million) for the Maxima Film production Only When I Laugh [+leggi anche:

In the feature-debut category, The Celebration by helmer Bruno Anuković and production company Eclectica got €433,942 (HRK 3.3 million).

In other categories, a total of €253,618 (HRK 1,927,500) was split between six feature-length documentaries, €241,447 (HRK 1,835,000) was allocated to six animated projects, €196,052 (HRK 1,490,000) went to five short fiction films, two short documentaries got a total of €57,895 (HRK 440,000), and four experimental projects received €82,895 (HRK 630,000). The script has been co-penned by Glurjidze and Andrey Zvyagintsev's regular screenwriter Oleg Negin, and is being co-produced by Georgia's CineTech, Russia's Viva Film, and Croatia's Avvantura and SSP Sergej Stanojkovski Production. House of Others actress Salome Demuria and DoP Gorka Gómez Andreu are again returning to work with Glurjidze.

In the feature-debut minority co-production category, the largest sum, €74,926 (HRK 570,000), went to Spas (lit. "Salvation") by Ukraine's Maksym Nakonechnyi, a co-production between his company, Tabor, and Croatia's 4Film.

Bosnian director Una Gunjak, winner of the 2015 EFA Award for Best Short Film for The Chicken, received €42,713 (HRK 350,000) for Excursion, co-produced by Sarajevo-based SCCA/Pro.ba, Croatia's Nukleus Film, Serbia's Baš Čelik and France's Maneki Films.
