Recognised for his short films, such as El corredor (winner among others of the Goya 2016), Matagatos (2010) and La historia de siempre (2009), which won 132 prize worldwide, José Luis Montesinos has made his feature debut based on a script co-written with Iakes Blesa, and a cast including Paula del Río (Retribution [+leggi anche:

The story of Ropes centres on Elena, a young quadriplegic woman who is grieving her recently deceased sister and has moved into a country house with her father. There, she is helped by Athos, a Belgian sheepdog especially trained to help her. But the creature, who is supposed to be her best friend, has contracted a strange disease... and turns into her worst enemy.

Ropes was produced by Arturo Méndiz (Bastian Films) and Carles Pastor (Gaia Audiovisuals) with Súbete al tren AIE, and the support of the ICAA, the IVAC and the participation of TV3.
