in 2018), the story revolves around François (Jalil Lespert) and Noémie (Mélanie Doutey), a couple in charge of a sawmill in the Jura region. François has taken over the family business, passed down from one generation to the next, and he dreams of having a child. Following years of unsuccessful medical interventions, Noémie gives up on the idea of having a child by natural means and turns towards adoption. It’s at this point that François meets Patricia (Louise Bourgoin). It marks the beginning of a passionate affair and, in no time at all, Patricia falls pregnant…

Produced by Miléna Poylo and Gilles Sacuto on behalf of TS Productions (who previously partnered with the director for Heatwave), Dreamchild has been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, and has been granted an advance on earnings by the CNC, as well as support from the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and the SOFICA companies Cofimage, Palatine Etoile and La Banque Postale Image. Filming, which kicked off on 5 August, is unfolding in the Doubs region, with photography in the hands of Céline Bozon (who won the 2018 Lumières Award, in her category, for Félicité [+leggi anche:
