Written by Jean-Paul Salomé and Hannelore Cayre as an adaptation of a novel by Cayre (published by Métailié), the screenplay centres on Patience Portefeux, a Franco-Arab judicial interpreter specialising in telephone tapping for the Stups. Precarious work, paid for underhand. One day, Patience infiltrates a network and ends up becoming “la Daronne,” right in the heart of Belleville...

Produced by Kristina Larsen for Les Films du Lendemain and by Jean-Baptiste Dupont for La Boétie Films, Mama Weed was co-produced by the Belgian outfit Scope Pictures. Filming, which started on 5 November, is taking place in Paris and the surrounding region, with Julien Hirsch (César Award in 2007 for Lady Chatterley [+leggi anche:
