The Netherlands Film Fund has finally announced the recipients of the last round of the 2018 Film Production Incentive, which will generate more than €15.5 million in production spend across the entire Dutch film sector. The beneficiaries of this provision will be two feature-length fiction films, seven documentary feature films, one animated feature and three TV series.

The two fiction films that have secured a grant are Sabine Lubbe Bakker and Niels van Koevorden’s Get Over Here and Kiss Me (€259,583), produced by Submarine Film in cooperation with Lunanime (Belgium), and Claudia Pinto’s The Consequences [+leggi anche:

(€115,392), produced by N279 Entertainment, and international partners Sin Rodeos Films España (Spain) and Potemkino (Belgium). 

The second-biggest incentive (€490,000) was given to the only animated feature project, Coppelia, helmed by directorial trio Jeff TudorBen Tesseur and Steven De Beul, and produced by Submarine Animation in cooperation with 3 Minutes West, MotionWorks (Germany) and Lunanime (Belgium).

Three high-end TV series were recipients of the incentive. The biggest award, of €1.5 million, went to Joram Lürsen’s Flying Dutchmen, an eight-episode TV drama penned by Winchester McFly and Thomas van der Ree, and produced by Topkapi Films. The other beneficiaries of the incentive were Lisa Brühlmann’s Killing Eve II (€178,781, produced by Topkapi Films, BBC America and British firm Sid Gentle Films) and Tim Oliehoek’s Stone Cold Stanley (€412,099, produced by NL Film & TV and Belgian partner EndemolShine).

Finally, the seven documentary projects that will benefit from the cash rebate are Isabel Lamberti’s Beyond the Blue Bridge (€114,849, produced by IJswater Films and Spanish outfit Tourmalet Films), Evert van den Bos’ The Galapagos, A Sustainable Future (€288,472, produced by Nature Conservation Films), John Appel’s Guided Tours (€92,855, produced by Cobos Films), Willemiek Kluijfhout’s The Naked Oyster (€115,423, staged by Halal Docs and Belgian partner Cassette for Timescapes), Joris Postema’s Stop Filming Us! (€67,929, produced by DOXY), Sandra Beerends’ They Call Me Babu [+leggi anche:

The application deadlines for the next two rounds of the Film Production Incentive for film productions and high-end TV series are 5 November 2018 and 5 February 2019. The Netherlands Film Production Incentive offers an attractive cash rebate of up to 35% on qualifying production costs that are spent in the country.
