Ji.hlava's flagship promotional and educational project Emerging Producers, taking place for the seventh time this year, presented its seventh generation of professionals last night at an event held at the festival's DIOD venue.

The current line-up includes 17 documentary producers from Romania, the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Lithuania, Slovenia, Belgium, Spain, Latvia, Italy, Portugal, Poland, the UK, Hungary and Slovakia, and a guest participant from Chile.

After the main event at Ji.hlava, the Emerging Producers will also be presented at the Berlinale, as well as ZagrebDox Pro, Sarajevo's CineLink and the TorinoFilmLab, and the catalogue will be distributed at many major festivals, including Cannes.

Anamaria Antoci (Romania)

Anna Herza Tydlitátová (Czech Republic)
Herza Tydlitátová founded her production company Telekinetic while still studying at FAMU. She worked on several titles as a line producer, and her producing debut was a 2016 co-production with Austria, the fiction feature Menandros & Thaïs [+leggi anche:

 by Ondřej Cikán and Antonín Šilar. She is now in early production with Bohdan Blahovec's documentary Satanic Girls, and in development with the multiplatform project Sound of Silence and the TV series Grit.

Giedrė Žickytė (Lithuania)
Žickytė is a documentary producer and director, best known internationally for the multi-award-winning 2016 short I Am Not From Here, co-directed with Maite Alberdi. The feature documentary Master and Tatyana, which she also directed, garnered her four national Silver Crane Awards in 2015. She is now in post-production with two documentaries, both already with international sales agents attached: her directorial effort The Jump [+leggi anche:

Elin Kamlert (Sweden)
Kamlert has been producing documentaries for broadcast and cinema since 2012, and in 2017, she founded her own company, Kamlert Film. She was the second producer and production manager on Dead Donkeys Fear No Hyenas [+leggi anche:

, and this year she finished Stefan Berg's feature documentary Leslie on Fire. She is currently developing the docs Waiting for the School Bus by Hanna Heilborn and Unkilled by Heilborn and David Aronowitsch (both for Story), and The Underdog by Iván Blanco (for Nonami).

David Lindner Leporda (Germany)
Leporda has been around as an independent producer since 2006 with the company Filmallee, which has a track record of collecting more than 100 awards, including the Critics’ Award at Venice, the IDFA Best Newcomer Award, three nominations for the EFA, and the Bavarian Film Award for Best German Producing Newcomer. Among other titles, Leporda was the main and delegate producer on Anca Lazarescu's That Trip We Took with Dad [+leggi anche:

Georg Tiller (Austria)
Tiller studied film and television with Harun Farocki, film directing and cinematography with Michael Haneke and Christian Berger, and film directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin. After working at Germany's Mengamuk Films, he is now the managing director of Austria's Subobscura Films. His past credits include his own directorial efforts Overnight Flies and Persona Beach, as well as Marcin Malaszczak's Sieniawka [+leggi anche:

Wanda Adamík Hrycová (Slovakia)

, which is having its international premiere at Ji.hlava. This year, she became the president of the Slovak Film and Television Academy and is developing the fiction feature Gorila, inspired by real events and directed by Jonas Karasek

Katja Lenarčič (Slovenia)
Lenarčič worked at German world sales agent m-appeal before joining Ljubljana-based production company EnaBanda. In 2017, she executive-produced Marko Kumer's feature documentary City of Light and, with Peter Cerovšek's short Fundaments, competed for the Documentary Heart of Sarajevo. She is now in development with Kumer's new film, The Pipe, and Urban Zorko's feature documentary Sunday Lunch.

Stanisław Zaborowski (Poland)
Zaborowski is a co-owner of production company Silver Frame. He co-produced three short and mid-length documentaries, and this year's international omnibus documentary Occupation 1968. He is now developing the animated documentary project We Have One Heart.

Kristof Bilsen (Belgium)
Bilsen is a director-producer at Antwerp-based Limerick Films, with an MA in Documentary Direction under his belt from the UK’s NFTS. His past films, all produced and directed by himself, are the feature Elephant's Dream (2014), the shorts The Perfect Belgian and Parallel Lives (both 2010), and the mid-length title Three Women (2005). He is now in production with Flux and in development with The Perfect Family.

Laura Collado (Spain)
Collado broke out internationally with the San Sebastián-premiered documentary Constructing Albert (2017), which she produced and co-directed with Jim Loomis. In 2012, she produced Justin Webster's Life from Others at Andoliado Producciones and went on to found her own company, Trueday Films, where she is currently developing the documentaries Letters Through the Wall and The Treasure Fleet.

Lelde Prūse (Latvia)
Prūse is one of the founders of Riga-based company Woodpecker Pictures, which mostly makes documentaries. Her credits include Jānis PutniņšEliyahu Rips: The Burning (2016), and two films by Kārlis LesiņšExporters of Revolution (2017) and Under the Upturned Moon (2018). She is currently in post with two new films by the same director, the fiction feature The Despair and the docu-fiction The Move

Zoran Galić (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Galić started up his Banja Luka-based company Vizart Film in 2003, and his credits include Saša Hajduković's feature 32 December (2009), Dane Komljen's Locarno short A Surplus of Wind (2014) and the documentary series Filming the Other (2015/16). He is currently in post-production with Marko Šipka's feature-length documentary The Land and in development with another, No News Agency, a co-production with Mexico co-directed by Šipka and Adriana Trujillo

Lorenzo Cioffi (Italy)
Cioffi is exclusively focused on documentaries with his company Ladoc, where he produced Ernesto Pagano's Napolislam (2015) and Laura Viezzoli's The Nature of Things [+leggi anche:

(2016). At the moment, he is finalising the development of the Canadian co-production There Was and There Wasn't by Andrea Capranico and MyJing by Alessandro De Toni.

Renata Sancho (Portugal)
Sancho is a producer and director, and also works as an editor and script supervisor. In 2013, she founded the production company Cedro Plátano, and her producing credits this year alone include her own directorial efforts Avenida Almirante Reis em 3 Andamentos and No Porto de Leixões – Panorama, as well as Rui Paiva's A Ilha Invisível. She is currently developing the documentaries La Visita by Irene BorregoAquilino Ribeiro by Mário BarrosoCentral by Maria João Soares, the fiction feature O Mergulho by Margarida Leitão and the documentary TV series No Porto de Leixões, which she will direct herself.

Victoria Thomas (UK)
An independent producer working with Polkadot Factory, among other companies, Thomas is a former journalist who also developed the film-discovery app Cues, with which she won the Canon Innovation Award at the 2017 Rotterdam IFF. Her credits include the 2018 UK-Nigerian co-production Walking with Shadows by Funmi Iyanda and Aiofe Kelly, and Salla Sorri and Jessie Chisi's Zambian-Finnish co-production Between Rings (2014). She is now in post with the feature documentary Born in New York, Raised in Paris and in development with two fiction films.

Isabel Orellana (Chile)
A guest participant from Chile, in 2014, Orellana founded Araucaria Cine, where she develops arthouse films that have screened at the likes of the Berlinale, Locarno, Karlovy Vary, DOK Leipzig, Visions du Réel and BAFICI. Her latest documentary, Petit Frère by Roberto Collio and Rodrigo Robledo, is about to premiere at Leipzig, and her past credits include Alex Anwandter's feature You'll Never Be Alone (2016). She is now developing the hybrid documentary feature The Veteran of Tinian by Jerónimo Rodríguez and Alicia Scherson's feature 1989: The Rise and Decline of Udo Berger.
