Written by Jean-Charles Hue and Axel Guyot, the screenplay focuses on Nick (Paul Anderson), a wounded American veteran who served in Iraq, who lives in Zona Norte, Tijuana's hot spot. There he meets Ana (Adriana Paz), a young Mexican girl looking for her missing brother, Ricardo. Seduced by the young woman's naive charm, he agrees to help her in her quest, but soon discovers that Ricardo was embroiled in a conflict with the neighbourhood's all-powerful narcos.

Produced by Philippe Braunstein and Axel Guyot for Les Films d'Avalon (which also produced The Lord’s Ride) Tijuana Bible was co-produced by Ad Vitam (which will handle French distribution), Orange Studio (driving international sales), Chaos Corp and the Mexicans outfit La Torre y el Mar. Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the film benefited from Jonathan Ricquebourg’s talent (2017 Lumières Award for Last Days of Louis XIV [+leggi anche:
