Filming is due to kick off on Monday 9 July on Je promets d'être sage (lit. "I Promise to Be Good") by Ronan Le Page. Known for his short films, such as Au noir (Audience Award at Angers in 2003), Le Fils du caméléon (in national competition at Clermont-Ferrand in 2005) and Le Métier qui rentre (2007), before being selected at Emergence in 2010, the filmmaker is launching himself into filming his first feature film, which will star Pio Marmaï (nominated for César awards in 2009 and 2011 for Most Promising Performance in The First Day of the Rest of Your Life [+leggi anche:

Written by the director, the screenplay focuses on Franck, who suddenly decides to turn over a new leaf after 15 difficult years in the world of theatre. He craves normality and accepts a job as a museum guard. He’s pretty happy when he discovers what is expected of him: point the way to the toilet, stop visitors from taking pictures with the flash on and sit in his chair while the day passes by. But Franck’s arrival seems to upset one of the museum representatives, Sybille, a temperamental forty-something-year-old woman who will do everything in her power to force him to leave. But Sybille is hiding something and Frank, rather than reveal all, will look for a way to help her.

Produced by Marc-Benoît Créancier for Easy Tiger, Je promets d'être sage will be co-produced by France 2 Cinéma. Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film is also receiving support from the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and Sofica Cinécapital. Approximately six weeks of filming will take place in Paris, the surrounding suburbs and Dijon. French distribution will be provided by Apollo Films and international sales will be handled by Charades.
