The international sales division of French company Le Pacte, headed up by Jean Labadie, is preparing to descend on the European Film Market at the 68th Berlin Film Festival (15-25 February) clutching a rich slate of 12 titles. Standing out among them is a feature that will have its world premiere in competition (which has not happened for Le Pacte in the German capital since 2014): The Prayer [+leggi anche:

The film’s lead actor is Anthony Bajon, who plays a young man who tries to overcome his addiction by joining an isolated community in the mountains, run by former drug addicts who treat themselves through prayer. The tenth opus by the filmmaker, who previously took part in the race for the Golden Bear in 2004 with Red Lights and participated in the Cannes competition in 2001 with Roberto Succo, was produced by Sylvie Pialat and Benoît Quainon for Les Films du Worso, and co-produced by Arte France CinémaRhône-Alpes Cinéma and Belgium’s Versus ProductionLe Pacte will bring the film out in France on 21 March, and the official Berlin premiere will take place on Sunday 18 February.
