On 29 November, leading French producer and distributor of animated series Cyber Group Studios announced it had secured a raft of deals with international broadcasters and platforms for both seasons 1 and 2 of its hit 52x11-minute pre-school animated series Gigantosaurus, as well as its 26x22-minute action-adventure animé series for kids aged six to ten, Droners.

Moreover, the group has pre-sold its brand-new CGI 2D series, entitled 50/50 Heroes, commissioned by France Télévisions and The Walt Disney Company in Germany and Eastern Europe, to Discovery in Latin America and Disney Japan. 50/50 Heroes is described as “an original graphic universe” focusing on “half-siblings who work together to make one-half of a superhero”. The show is currently in production.

Specifically, the first season of Gigantosaurus was sold to NHK (Japan), Plus Plus (Ukraine), RTBF (Belgium) and Premier (Russia), whilst the show’s second season was sold to Netflix (worldwide), CCTV (China), POP (UK), RAI (Italy) and SRC (Canada). Gigantosaurus is currently airing on Disney Junior in the USA and across the EMEA region.

Meanwhile, the first season of Droners, commissioned by TF1, was picked up by ABC (Australia), SIC (Portugal), RTBF (Belgium) and RTS (Switzerland). Following the success of its inaugural season on TF1, the second one has been picked up again by the network, as well as by WDR (Germany) and Disney (France and Benelux).

Speaking about the recent deals sealed by the studio, SVP Sales and Acquisitions Raphaelle Mathieu commented: “It’s very gratifying and affirming that our signature programmes are resonating so strongly with audiences around the globe in such large and important markets as the USA, Latin America, Asia and EMEA. These new partnerships will help Cyber Group Studios further our mission of creating content that entertains and engages children and families worldwide.”
