The Spanish Ministry of Culture announced a few days ago the awarding of selective grants (for proposals of special artistic value, whether fiction or animation, documentaries and experimental films) to promote film production, with a total of ten million euros. Eight million of which is allocated to the credit available in the Film Protection Fund of the expenditure budget of the Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute (ICAA) for the financial year 2022, and the remaining two million to the credit available through the programme for the promotion, modernisation and digitisation of the audiovisual sector, which will be distributed, depending on their higher or lower evaluation by an expert committee, among 35 feature films.

For example, in the section for feature films of special cinematographic value (19 films have been selected in this category), three titles receiving €800,000: La mitad de Ana, a fiction film written by the actress Marta Nieto (Madre [+lire aussi :

); while La furia, by Gemma Blasco and produced by RM Película A.I.E., will receive €573,725.

Receiving lesser awards in this section are the animated feature Winnipeg, el barco de la esperanza, by Elio Quiroga and Beñat Beitia (Dibulitoon Factory) and fiction projects such as Anoche conquisté Tebas (Dvein Films), by Gabriel Azorín (Los mutantes [+lire aussi :

Grants awarded to documentary projects include: Papagayo (Tourmalet Films), the new film by Omar Al Abdul Razzak, who receives €221,637; €157,250 for La marsellesa de los borrachos (Boogaloo Films), by Pablo Gil Rituerto; La partitura del Cosmos (Insularia Creadores), by Juanma Betancort, with €153,000; Ole mi coño, diario de mi extorsión (Gadea Productions), by Patricia Franquesa, with €140,240; and the new film by Isabel Coixet, El techo amarillo (Miss Wasabi Lab), with €107,125; among a total of eleven non-fiction films receiving grants. And finally, in the experimental section, of the five approved films is the noteworthy Siete Jereles by the relentless Gonzalo García-Pelayo (La Zanfoña Producciones), with €96,581.
