, also directed by Plaza and starring Sandra Escacena and Ana Torrent. The film tells the story of how, in post-war Spain, Narcisa (played by Aria Bedmar), a novice with supernatural powers, arrives at a former convent, now a school for girls, to become a teacher. As the days go by, the strange events and increasingly disturbing situations that torment her will eventually lead her to uncover the terrible web of secrets that surround the convent and haunt its inhabitants.

For Enrique López Lavigne, Pablo Cruz and Diego Suarez Chialvo, producers of El Estudio, "Hermana muerte is a date with quality horror, Paco Plaza's trademark, but it is also a teenage mystery of the inexplicable and fascinating phenomena surrounding Marian apparitions. Ultimately, this film gives us the chance to tell the story of the origins of one of the most terrifying characters in Plaza’s classic Veronica".

El Estudio is a production company focused on Spanish-speaking audiences, founded by Enrique López Lavigne, Pablo Cruz and Diego Suárez Chialvo. Most recent productions include the three-time Mexican Academy Award winner El Baile de los 41 (Cinépolis & Netflix), the documentary series Las crónicas del taco (Netflix), the docu-reality Siendo Pampita (Paramount+), the documentary Mi adorado Monster [+lire aussi :

and the Hombres G musical Voy a pasármelo bien (Sony/Amazon). With offices in Mexico City, Los Angeles, Madrid and Buenos Aires, the company has over ten projects in production and another 20 in development with platforms and studios.
