The 62nd Thessaloniki International Film Festival (TIFF) will run from 5-14 November, both in its usual physical locations, screening almost 200 films, and on its digital platform, where 144 titles will be featured. The festival will open with Audrey Diwan’s Golden Lion winner, Happening [+lire aussi :

For the first time, TIFF will host three competition sections, while the number of awards is also being increased. The 14 films selected in the international competition, three of which are Greek, are feature debuts or sophomore films, and will be setting their sights on the Golden Alexander. A large-scale tribute to editing, entitled “In the Cut: Editing and its Secrets”, will welcome nine top-notch editors from Greece and abroad who will share their experience in master classes and workshops. They will also have a carte blanche to select films that they consider iconic within the art of editing or which have been influential on their careers. Sixteen Greek-language and English-language podcasts will take part in the Podcast competition section of the festival, while the audience will have a chance to enjoy another ten podcasts out of competition. Finally, TIFF will pay tribute to Bulgarian filmmaker Binka Zhelyazkova (see the news).
