While the 17th edition of the ZagrebDox International Documentary Film Festival has already wrapped with the announcement of its winners (see the news), the gathering’s industry training programme, ZagrebDox Pro, is still unspooling entirely online. This year’s workshop started yesterday and will run until 25 June, welcoming 12 creative documentary projects hailing from 13 countries (which are currently at different stages of development and production), within an online environment.

ZagrebDox Pro has been an integral element of the festival and boasts a high rate of success in terms of the number of projects completed and premiered at acclaimed festivals. One of the key tools for this is the Pitching Forum, which is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 29 June.

As at previous editions, the workshop mentors at ZagrebDox Pro are Leena Pasanen, director of the Biografilm Festival in Bologna and former managing and artistic director of DOK Leipzig; and Stefano Tealdi, an Italian director, producer and experienced film educator, who will consult with and prepare the participants for the Pitching Forum. Furthermore, during the workshop, the participants will acquire the skills required for finding international partners able to co-finance their films, as the aim of the programme is for the selected projects to benefit from group and individual work. The public sessions of the Pitching Forum are also well known for including an impressive number of panellists and attending decision makers. After the pitching session, the participants will have one-on-one online meetings with the members of the panel as well as numerous industry experts and decision-makers who are interested in the projects.
