One winter day, Nena gathers her family in their seaside house to celebrate her birthday. Everyone is here: her husband Umberto, her children Vito and Caterina together with cousin Isabella, her daughter-in-law Adelina and former son-in-law Manfredi with his new fiancée Joana, her niece Alma, and the housekeeper Lucia with her daughter Grazia. And then there’s Paco, Alma’s peacock, who surprisingly falls in love with the dove featured in a painting that hangs in the living room.

The Peacock's Paradisewas written by Silvana Tamma and Laura Bispuri, the cinematography is handled by Vladan Radovic, the score by Nando Di Cosimo (as in all of Bispuri’s previous films), the editing by Carlotta Cristiani and Jacopo Quadri, the costumes by Antonella Cannarozzi, the set design by Ilaria Sadun, the makeup by Paola Gattabrusi, the hair by Alberta Giuliani, and the casting by Francesca Borromeo.  

The film is produced by Marta Donzelli and Gregorio Paonessa for Vivo Film with Rai Cinema, in association with Colorado Film, in co-production with German company Match Factory Productions, with the support of the Direzione Generale Cinema e Audiovisivo MiC  and of the Film und Medienstiftung NRW. International sales are handled by The Match Factory.
