The upcoming 22nd edition of the Nordic Film Market is inviting along a total of 21 new feature-film projects – 13 in post-production and eight in development – and will present them to market delegates entirely digitally. The principal marketplace in the region is due to run from 4-7 February, during the 44th Göteborg Film Festival (29 January-8 February). All of the projects will be presented on the festival’s digital platform on 5 February, and the session will also be made available afterwards.

) is adapting The Emigrants, the classic novel written by Vilhelm Moberg, into an epic drama (see the news), while the other two Swedish projects are by first-time filmmakers – namely, Clara Sola by Nathalie Álvarez Mesén, which is also featured in Les Arcs’ Work in Progress selection this year, and The School Master Games by Ylva Fornern, which was present in the Discovery section of the Nordic Film Market last year.

With five projects, Denmark is the best-represented country in the section. These include the psychological drama The Pact by award-winning film and television director Bille August (see the news); filmmaker-actor Christian Tafdrup, who rose to prominence with his sophomore effort, A Horrible Woman [+lire aussi :

), who is directing the period drama Margrete – Queen of the North. As for the debutants, they both hail from the world of TV: Anna Emma Haudal (Doggystyle) is bringing The Venus Effect, and Tea Lindeburg (Kødkataloget) will come clutching The Night of the Dead.

There are two projects from Iceland: the Polish-co-produced crime drama Wolka by Árni Ólafur Ásgeirsson (Undercurrent), and Cop Secret, another crime story, directed by first-timer Hannes Þór Halldórsson, who is also a renowned goalkeeper in the Icelandic national football team. As for Norway, it will be rocking up with one project, Nothing to Laugh About, a dramedy about a stand-up comedian having the worst day ever, directed by Petter Næss (Elling [+lire aussi :
