The Italian international sales agent True Colours has left the MIA clutching a series of distribution agreements for the titles it has presented at the Rome-based market, starting with the Palestinian film 200 Meters [+lire aussi :

, which was screened in a market premiere after scooping Venice’s Giornate degli Autori Audience Award. This first work by Ameen Nayfeh was sold to Shellac for France and to Filmarti for Turkey, while the Italian co-producer MeMo Film sealed a deal for domestic distribution with I Wonder Pictures.

Another market premiere to meet with success was the Austrian-Belgian co-production Why Not You [+lire aussi :

by the South Tyrolean director Evi Romen, which bagged the trophy for Best Film in the Zurich International Film Festival’s Focus Competition section. The film was bought by Salzgeber for Germany, by TLA Releasing for the USA and the UK, and by Tongariro for Poland, while negotiations are also underway for distribution in France and Switzerland. This LGBT drama was presented at the Viennale and is scheduled to travel on to the Tallin Film Festival in November.

As for Emiliano Corapi’s Italian romantic comedy Love Under House Arrest [+lire aussi :

Among the post-production titles currently on offer to international buyers, courtesy of the sales agent, we find Sergio Castellitto’s upcoming film starring Bérénice Bejo, Il materiale emotivo [+lire aussi :

, which is continuing its success by finding distributors in Spain (Adso Film), Greece (Rosebud), Hungary (Cirko Film), Russia (Voxell Media) and the Baltic states (Best Film). Talks on this film are also underway for South America, as they are for this same region and for China on Paolo Genovese’s new film Superheroes [+lire aussi :

, which was only very recently distributed in Spain and which has now been sold to Destiny Films for France, to Sun Distribution for South America and to Breaking Glass Pictures for the USA and Canada. and for Jasmine Trinca’s debut short Being My Mom (read our interview with the director), which was presented in Venice’s Orizzonti line-up. Say It Loud has also been sold for Greece to the distributor Tanweer. Last but not least, Roberto De Feo’s horror film The Nest [+lire aussi :

, which is soon to be released in Poland, has been bought for Spain by the group Alfa Pictures, who are aiming to release it in cinemas before the end of 2020.
