) and Benet Vilmányi. Written by Lili Horvát herself, the story centres around Márta, a 40-year-old neurosurgeon who falls in love. She abandons her brilliant career in the US and returns home to Budapest to start a new life with the man she loves. But she finds herself waiting in vain on the Liberty Bridge when he doesn’t turn up for their rendezvous. Márta sets out on a desperate search for him, but when she finds him the love of her life acts as if they’ve never met.

In the words of the director, "Preparations... is primarily a personal story about the role of projection in love. Our film plays out in the unsettlingly murky no-man's-land that separates love from madness. To what extent do we construct love stories within ourselves? How far does our desired reality go, and where does it meet actual reality? How differently can two people experience the same love? Preparations... shows the inner journey of a strong, determined and yet fragile woman: a neurosurgeon who has achieved everything in her career, yet something fundamental is deeply missing from her life."

Produced by Dóra Csernátony and Lili Horvát for Poste Restante, and by Péter MiskolcziPreparations to Be Together for an Unknown Period of Time enjoys the support of the National Film Institute Hungary. Cinematography comes courtesy of Róbert Maly while the music for the movie was composed by Gábor Keresztes. Mozinet will release the film in Hungarian cinemas on 24 September, with international sales in the hands of NFI World Sales.
