Slovakian DoP Denisa Buranová has received the main CAMERA 2019 Award for her work on the film By a Sharp Knife [+lire aussi :

at the biannual gathering of domestic professionals from the Association of Slovak Cinematographers. Buranová belongs to the young generation of Slovakian cinematographers, and she also lensed Iveta Grófová’s Crystal Bear-winning Little Harbour [+lire aussi :

, for which she also won the national The Sun in a Net Award for Best Cinematography (see the news), and Mira Fornay’s short film Gardeners. She has also worked with established director Peter Kerekes. Her work on Teodor Kuhn’s political thriller and family drama was singled out from among a total of 18 feature-length fiction films in contention. The runners-up were Ján Meliš for lensing Marko Škop’s drama Let There Be Light [+lire aussi :

, which takes a close look at the war in Syria and Iraq, received the gong for Best Documentary Cinematography while Tomáš Juríček was awarded in the television-series category for his work on the period miniseries Maria Theresa (see the news). The association honoured DoP Richard Krivda with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Krvida has lensed predominantly documentary projects and has shot in 52 countries. The Award for Technological Contribution went to Vlado Struhar, a director of adverts who developed the software tool QTAKE, which is used to log, capture, play back, edit and process video output, and which has been used for blockbusters such as Terminator 6 and the forthcoming titles in the Star Wars and Avatar [+lire aussi :
