Cristina Comencini will direct the film adaptation of Rosella Postorino’s best-selling novel At the Wolf’s Table. Produced by Lumière & Co. and distributed by Vision Distribution, the film will be co-produced by various European entities and will see the Roman director, who received an Oscar nomination for Don’t Tell [+lire aussi :

Published by Feltrinelli and translated from Italian into 32 languages, At the Wolf’s Table has sold more than half a million copies in 46 countries. Based on the real-life experience of Margot Wölk, who confessed at the end of her life to have been one of Hitler’s young food tasters, the novel tells the story of Rosa Sauer, who, alongside nine other women, is expected to taste the meals made expressly for the Führer. Three times a day, each and every day, she is obliged to dice with death, testing these dishes for any potential poison. Within a climate of coercion, these ten women become friends but also rivals, forming alliances and betraying one another, feeling fear and falling in love. And, despite it all, their feelings of desire never leave them, because to feel desire is to remain human.
