, is set to world-premiere in the Berlinale's (7-17 February) Panorama section. Loza returns to the German festival after last year's Malambo, the Good Man, which also screened in Panorama, and the 2013 title La Paz, which screened in Forum and won two awards at BAFICI.

Brief Story from the Green Planet follows three close friends: Tania, a transgender girl who performs in Buenos Aires discos; Pedro, a young dancer; and Daniela, a waitress dealing with a difficult break-up. When Tania receives the news that her grandmother has passed away, she returns with Pedro and Daniela to their hometown to take care of the house that she’s left her in her will. However, she finds out that an alien had been living with her grandmother during her twilight years in order to keep her company. Now Tania’s grandma has asked her to return the creature to the place where it first appeared. Tania, Pedro and Daniela thus embark on a journey to search for this unknown location. But when Tania begins to feel unwell and their voyage gets tough, they will have to look inside themselves in order to overcome their fears and prove that their friendship is true, so that they can accomplish their mission before it is too late for the alien – and maybe also for Tania.

"Brief Story from the Green Planet is a film about the strength that the weak have when they are united by a common cause. It is a film about friendship, about those indispensable bonds that allow us to travel through the darkness of the woods," says Loza. "It is a journey, a road, an evocation, a dream. And, as in dreams, logic is transformed and spaces become blurred."

The film stars Romina EscobarPaula Grinszpan, Luis Soda and Elvira Onetto. It was lensed by Eduardo Crespo, and edited by Loli Moriconi and Iair Attias, and the soundtrack was composed by Diego Vainer.

Brief Story from the Green Planet was produced by Buenos Aires-based Constanza Sanz Palacios Films, and co-produced by Brazil's Anavilhana Filmes, Zentropa International Spain and Germany's Autentika Films. Italy's The Open Reel has the international rights.
