The Visegrad Animation Forum (VAF), the largest platform for the animation industry in Central and Eastern Europe, is officially rebranding as CEE Animation. Over the course of its six-year existence, it has managed to build up a strong base of film professionals and welcomes over 150 participants from all over Europe to Třeboň every year.

"The Central and Eastern European region operates on very similar historical, artistic and economic fundaments," say the organisers. "That's why it is our ambition to broaden the platform by including other countries, increase the range of activities, and consolidate all of that under the new CEE Animation brand."

Now, CEE Animation Forum, formerly known as VAF Třeboň, is opening a call for projects for its next edition, taking place from 6-9 May 2019. The traditional pitching competition for animation projects will be held across three categories: short film, series/TV special and feature film. The selected participants will have a unique opportunity to consult on their projects with invited experts, and get valuable feedback and advice on how to improve their presentation, script or production strategy.

Those taking part in the competition will have a chance to find a co-production partner by presenting their work in front of more than 100 film professionals – including producers, TV programmers, festival directors, distributors, investors and representatives of national film funds. They all come to Třeboň to find fresh creativity, discuss new visions and opportunities, or talk about financing methods and strategies for further developing the field. During those three days, the emphasis is placed on networking in the form of one-on-one meetings, or short presentations of countries and studios.

The forum is organised in conjunction with the Anifilm International Festival of Animated Films

To apply, fill in the online form by 13 January 2019 at the latest.
