There are just a few days left before the kick-off of the 15th edition of the Seville European Film Festival (9-17 November – see the news) along with an integral part of it, the SEFF Industry umbrella, a space on the gathering’s programme dedicated to film professionals, which is set to unspool between 13 and 15 November.

For the first time, this new edition of the programme will host, in cooperation with Cineuropa and AGICI - the Italian General Association of Independent Film-Audiovisual Industries, the Sistema Italia seminar. This event, which will take place on 15 November, has a twofold objective: to analyse the possible forms of cooperation between Spain, Latin America and Italy, following the latter’s recent admission into the Ibermedia programme, and to explain the national and regional economic intervention strategies, as well as the Italian tax relief schemes, to Spanish professionals (read more here).

As is customary, this year the festival will invite Europa International to celebrate its seventh Annual Conference, the main objective of which is to continue trying to create a closer working relationship between two key players in the industry – sales agents and festivals. A special meeting will also be organised with Spanish producers and directors in order to allow them to present their works to the members of the network in attendance in Seville (Films Boutique, TrustNordisk, Memento, New Europe Film Sales, Charades and Wild Bunch, among others).

Europa Cinemas will also be holding the third edition of its Innovation Lab, a laboratory for developing audiences and encouraging innovation for cinemas, where new strategies will be dissected so that cinemas and theatres can continue to be important spaces for local communities and adapt to the changes in entertainment models.

The SEFF Industry programme, which boasts support from Acción Cultural Española and Extenda, will also host the Women in Focus conference, coordinated by the Andalusian Association of Women in Audiovisual Media (AAMMA), with the involvement of young filmmakers such as Celia Rico Clavellino, Carmen Blanco and Marta Díaz, as well as the 16th Conference on Animation and Video Games, organised by the Andalusian Audiovisual Foundation, the full programme of which can be consulted here.
