(which took part in the competition of the Málaga Film Festival in 2015), Alejo Flah (Buenos Aires, 1977) is making quite a swerve in his career and is trying his hand at a road movie fused with elements of modern western, adventure-comedy and buddy movie. Taxi a Gibraltar [+lire aussi :

), introduces us to Diego Manfredi (Furriel), a charming liar and swindler who has just been released from prison. Although nobody is waiting for him on the outside, he hails a taxi being driven by León Lafuente (Rovira) – a man with an equally complex personality, who is furious at the world and crippled by debt – to drive him to the south of Spain.

Along the way, they will be joined by Sandra Sánchez (García Jonsson), a girl who – the day before her wedding – has run away from her tedious life, her unhappy future and her deathly dull town. The ultimate objective of the journey undertaken by these three losers will turn out to be nothing less than unearthing the treasures that, legend has it, are still hidden in the tunnels that the English dug under the Rock of Gibraltar during World War II, to serve as an air-raid shelter.

Taxi a Gibraltar is a production by La Terraza Films, Atresmedia CineIkiru FilmsSacromonte Films, La Mano de Dios AIE, and Argentina’s Film Tonic and Az Films. Its distribution will be handled by Warner Bros España. The shoot began on 23 April and took place for seven weeks in the titular city, Madrid, La Línea de la Concepción (Cádiz) and the Canary Islands. It is currently at the editing and post-production stage.
