Danish international sales agent TrustNordisk is heading to the 71st Cannes Film Festival (8-19 May) at full pelt with a former festival pariah on board, as after a seven-year enforced absence, Lars von Trier is returning for the tenth time to his regular Promenade walk of fame.

is in Cannes’ Official Selection as an Out of Competition screening. Set in the USA in the 1970s, the story follows Jack (Matt Dillon) through five incidents as we are introduced to the murders that define his development as a serial killer. Everything is seen from Jack’s highly intelligent perspective, and his murders are presented as works of art. Jack’s dysfunctional social presence will gradually be exposed through descriptions and after encountering the mysterious Verge (Bruno Ganz). The cast is rounded off by Uma ThurmanRiley Keough, Siobhan Fallon Hogan and Sofie Gråbøl as some of the women whom Jack meets along the way.

As expected, The House That Jack Built has already secured its presence in multiple territories, as TrustNordisk has already promoted it at previous markets. For the Cannes Film Market (8-17 May) screenings, the Danish sales agent is bringing along the upcoming Swedish compilation Bergman Revisited, which comprises six different films inspired by Ingmar Bergman’s legacy and is being made for the centenary celebrations of his birth. Exploring different genres, from Bergmanesque drama to animated satire, the films are directed by contemporary Swedish helmers, including Tomas AlfredsonLisa Aschan, Pernilla August, Patrik Eklund, Jane Magnusson and Linus Tunström.
