The 11th edition of the Beldocs Belgrade International Documentary Film Festival, taking place from 7-14 May, has plumped up both its film selection and its industry section. It will be screening 98 films in 14 different sections and 11 cinemas, and features the Beldocs Market, a series of panels and discussions with more than 60 international professionals moderated by EDN director Paul Pauwels, and Beldocs in Progress, a platform designed to present new documentary projects to the national and international market.

A special selection of top-notch highbrow art documentaries from the past ten years, including Jean Marie Straub's latest short People by the Lake, as well as the latest film from US auteur James BenningL. Cohen, and Miguel Gomes' legendary Our Beloved Month of August [+lire aussi :

, curated by Beldocs' new artistic director, filmmaker Marko Grba Singh, will be screened in Belgrade's Museum of Contemporary Art. 

The impressive line-up of master classes includes “Directing Oneself: How to Maintain an Auteur Film Career?” by Abel Ferrara, “Between Fiction and Documentary” by João Pedro Rodrigues, “How to Film Nothing” by Mitić, “Documenting and Writing Personal-Political Memory on Meteors” by Keltek, “Re-Constructing History with Present Images on The Waldheim Waltz [+lire aussi :

” by Ruth Beckermann and a highly anticipated, untitled master class by Seidl.

Finally, Beldocs in Progress will present seven projects (click here for the full list), and the two best projects, as chosen by the jury, will receive a €2,000 award thanks to the support of Film Center Serbia, and €4,000 in post-production services by Living Pictures.
