ORDINARY LANDSCAPE

by Damien Monnier

synopsis

Towns, fields, churches, embankments and hedges, 35 square kilometers largely devoted to livestock and crops. 1958. A family of peasants in Sunday clothes facing the photographer's goal for the golden wedding of the oldest. 2018. Cowsheds have been replaced by production sheds, electric fences have replaced hedgerows. But always, the earth, the animal, the water, the blood, the shit ... The youngest of the photo are about to retire from farmers. From one era to another, mutations and persistence tell the story of this world and its practices, at the heart of which progress resonates with self-image.
