Série Series 2022: ¿Puede la ficción mejorar el mundo?

It’s almost a fresh start that Série Series (guided by Marie Barraco) is about to make, after two editions of adaptation to pandemic restrictions. The 11th edition that will unfold from 30 June to 2 July in Fontainebleau (with again some hybridity since three quarters of the programme will be accessible online) will continue throughout July with several public and free screenings in the Ile-de-France region, and a Series Night organised in partnership with France.tv Slash.
But the core of the reactor, the European Series Summit, with its two days on 30 June and 1 July, which will see a large number of international professionals gather in Fontainebleau to exchange views and analyse developments in the sector, is also undergoing an inflection, since a cross-cutting theme ("Can fiction make the world a better place?") will set the tone for the discussions, and the brand-new Gloria Prize (endowed by Palatine) will be awarded to the authors and producers of a series project that honours the role of women in the creative process or in the content of the work.
The masterclasses will feature British writer and actor Adam Kay (who adapted his bestseller This Is Going to Hurt for the BBC, centred on the UK health system), his compatriot showrunner Jed Mercurio (Bodyguard), French screenwriter Anne Landois (Spiral) and composer Mathieu Lamboley (who composed the music for Lupin).
Among the 73 speakers who will contribute to the debates and case studies are Miguel Salvat (HBO Max Spain), the German Simone Emmelius (ZDF), the Ukrainian Kateryna Vyshnevska, the Israeli-American Maria Feldman, the Finns Mari and Matti Kinnunen, the Belgians Ivy Vanhaecke, Nathalie Basteyns and Tiny Bertels, the Swede Stefan Baron, the Briton Ellie Haworth, her compatriot Tony Grisoni, the Icelander Hordur Runarsson, the Italian Angelina Cantisani and the Bulgarian Sevda Shishmanova. The subject of Eastern European creation will also be dissected with the Czechs Kamila Zlatušková, Lenka Szántó and Jan Maxa. Several other heads of fiction from European channels and platforms will present their positions and orientations, such as Anne Viau (TF1), Manuel Alduy (France Télévisions), Pauline Dauvin (Disney+ France) and Izabela Rieben (RTS).
But images will also be part of the show, with four complete series being screened: Cómo mandarlo todo a la mierda (How to Screw It All Up) (a Boomerang TV production for HBO Max Spain), the Belgian-French Lost Luggage (produced by De Mensen, VRT and ARTE France), the UK's The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe (ITV), and the Argentinian Santa Evita (Star Original Productions, Non Stop Studios for Star+, Disney+ and Hulu).
In the work in progress section of "Ça tourne" with the film teams revealing the inner workings of the production process, seven series stand out, including the French series Sous contrôle, scripted by Charly Delwart in collaboration with Benjamin Charbit, with Léa Drucker, Samir Guesmi and Laurent Stocker in the cast, and directed by Erwan Le Duc (who was discovered at the 2019 Directors' Fortnight with The Bare Necessity [+lee también:

ficha de la película]) for a story centred on the director of an NGO who is appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs on the day that five Europeans are taken hostage in Sahel.
