The film explores three overlapping fates, three stories about human beings and dogs. It follows the adventures of Tom who agrees to take in his deceased neighbour’s chihuahua in order to win the affections of janitor’s daughter Cécile. The only problem is that this seemingly inoffensive little beast appears to have driven his master to suicide and seems to have it in for Tom. We also get to know Greta, an actress and muse for a famous perfume brand, whose dog and assistant were run over and killed by a truck. She meets Charlotte in a launderette and suggests this woman replaces her assistant… or does she want her to replace her dog? Last but not least, we meet Franck and Lola who fall in love at first sight. Franck has never had so much in common with someone… There’s just one problem: Lola doesn’t like dogs. Franck is forced to choose between his new love Lola and his best friend and best dog in the world Perdita.

The film’s cast stars Xavier Seron’s faithful playmate and former hero of Je me tue à le dire Jean-Jacques Rausin, as well as actress Aurora Marion (discovered in Almayer’s Folly [+lee también:

Produced in Belgium by Hélicotronc, co-produced in France by Artisans du Film and set to be sold worldwide by Be For Films, Chiennes de vies was one of the various films awarded lightweight production support several years ago by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation Film Centre. Filming is set to unfold in Brussels and the surrounding area between 20 April and 20 May.
