The Visegrad Film Forum networking and educational event (16-19 March) is bracing for its ninth edition as an in-person gathering after an involuntary two-year break owing to the pandemic. “Creating a space for aspiring filmmakers and movie enthusiasts to peek behind the ‘film curtain’ – behind the scenes of how a film is made – has always been our goal. The pandemic-related situation has prevented us from realising this as a live event in recent years, but we believe that, despite the recurring adversity, we will prepare the next edition for March 2022 at the highest possible level of quality, and in a safe form for every guest and participant,” says Visegrad Film Forum director Jakub Viktorín.

Traditionally, the partner schools present films by their students, and this year will be no different. The domestic co-organiser, the Film and TV Faculty of the Slovakian Academy of Performing Arts, will be joined by the Film Academy of Miroslav Ondricek in Pisek, the Eszterházy Károly University in Eger and the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia in Katowice, plus two schools from beyond the “V4” territory: the Faculty of Dramatic Arts at the University of Arts in Belgrade, and the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinema.

The 2022 Visegrad Film Forum will unfold from 16-19 March in Cinema Kino Lumière, Bratislava, Slovakia. The complete programme is available here.
