ficha de la película] (awarded the Special Jury Prize - within the Cineasti del Presente section - and the Best First Film trophy in Locarno in 2013, and nominated for the Louis-Delluc Best First Film award in 2014). The cast includes non-professional actors Julien Nortier, Jade Laurencier, Michael Mormentyn, Dany Hermetz and Thierry Zirnheld.

Penned by the filmmaking duo, the story revolves around Mathurin Milan who was committed to a Charenton hospital on 31 August 1707: "His madness has always been to hide himself away from his family, to lead an obscure life in the countryside, to engage in litigation, to lend money to the point of no return, to walk his poor spirit along unknown roads and to believe himself capable of the biggest jobs."

Produced by Thomas Ordonneau on behalf of Shellac, Infamous Men's Lifebenefits from production aid from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and from Pictanovo (the Hauts-de-France region). Likewise backed by the department of Dordogne, the feature film also enjoyed support at the writing stage from the Normandy and Hauts-de-France regions. The 28-day film shoot took place between 14 October and 20 November. Distribution in France and international sales are set to be steered by Shellac.
